What requirements will I need?
You must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Must be a native speaker of English. It is a huge plus if you have any prior teaching experiences.

How much will I get paid?
You will get paid at least 4000 RMB/month upon the case.

How much will I have to pay for travel?
If you sign a 6-month contract we will pay for a one-way trip to China. If you sign a year contract we will provide you with a round trip ticket.

Will I get Internet?
Yes, we will provide access to a computer and Internet in China.

Is there a travel allowance?
Yes, there will be a travel allowance. Depending on your location and school we will provide 2000-3000 RMB. This is a one-time pay.

Will I need shots? Who will provide them?
Not necessary to have shots but will be beneficial if you do get them. The teacher is supposed to pay for the shots.

Who will provide the visa?
The teacher will be responsible for getting his or her own visiting visa. AEM will be responsible for changing the visiting visa to a working visa while in China. This is to keep cost low for the ESL teacher.

What are the requirements for the teacher?
The teachers are required to teach 4-5 classes a day for a 5-day week. 45-50 minutes per class. More information about requirement of the teacher is in the contract.

What other accommodations will ESL teachers get?
AEC will try to please their teachers as best as possible. We will provide them with all the necessary accommodations like a bed, furniture, TV, etc. Meals and medical will be provided by AEC as well.

How big is the class size?
Class size can range from 30-40 students.

Will I teach the ESL course fully in English or will I am require to know some Chinese?
You will not be required to know Chinese at all. All the China students have some knowledge or prior experience with the English language. The duties of the ESL teacher are to further advance their knowledge of the English language.
