Dr. Jerry M. Greiner
Dr. Jerry M. Greiner joined top-ranked Arcadia University as its 19th president in July 2004. The former provost of Hamline University, a top-10 comprehensive university in Minnesota, Dr. Greiner, 54, is a practicing clinical psychologist. Dr. Greiner joined Hamline in Saint Paul, Minn., in 1975, as an assistant professor of psychology. He became an assistant dean in 1987, and went on to hold several deanships. In 1995, Dr. Greiner was named vice president for Academic Affairs and dean of the College of Liberal Arts. As Provost, a position he held since 1999, Greiner served as the university’s chief academic officer, chief operations officer and chair of University Council. He oversaw all of the university’s schools, as well as student affairs, enrollment management, information technology, facilities and human resources.
Dr. Greiner received his Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology, summa cum laude from Aquinas College Grand Rapids, Mich., and his master’s and Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Cincinnati. He is the founding member of the Associated New American Colleges (ANAC).

Edwin H. Welch
Edwin H. Welch came to the University of Charleston in 1989 as its president. He is active in community affairs.
Dr. Edwin H. Welch was born in Maryland where he spent his early years. He earned his B.A. in Sociology from Western Maryland College. He completed theological studies at Boston University School of Theology and his doctoral work in social ethics at Boston University. He studied international relations at the London School of Economics and Political Science and educational administration at Harvard University. He supported his academic studies by working in the Executive Office of the President at The White House from 1961 until 1971. He worked in the administrations of presidents Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon.
Dr. Welch began his teaching at West Virginia Wesleyan College where he chaired the sociology and anthropology department. He was a department chair and assistant dean at Lebanon Valley College in Pennsylvania, the academic vice president at Lakeland College in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and for eight years was the Provost at Wartburg College in Iowa.

D. Merrill Ewert
D. Merrill Ewert became the university's 10th president in June of 2002. Ewert came to FPU from Cornell University, where he served as professor, director and associate dean of Cornell Cooperative Extension. His resume also includes stints as assistant and associate professor of education at Cornell, director of extension and continuing education at Wheaton College and assistant professor of adult/extension education at the University of Maryland. As a Fulbright Senior Scholar, Ewert worked with farmers in the Philippines. He also spent seven years in Africa with relief agencies.

Nido R. Qubein
Nido Qubein is president of High Point University. He has written numerous books and recorded scores of audio and video learning programs including a bestseller on effective communication published by Nightingale-Conant and Berkley. He is an active speaker and consultant addressing more than 100 business and professional groups around the world each year.
His foundation provides scholarships to 48 deserving young people each year. To-date the Qubein Foundation has granted more than 600 scholarships, worth over three million dollars.
Nido Qubein is chairman of an international consulting firm and recipient of the highest awards given for professional speakers. He served as president of the National Speakers Association which has a membership of 4,000 professionals and is the founder of the National Speakers Association Foundation where the highest award for Philanthropy is named for him. Nido Qubein has been the recipient of many honors including the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, a Doctorate of Laws degree, and induction into Beta Gamma Sigma, the honor society for business leadership.
Nido Qubein’s business savvy led him to help start a bank in 1986 and today he serves on the board and executive committee of a Fortune 500 financial corporation with 115 billion-dollars in assets and 25,000 employees. He is also chairman of a national public relations company, chairman of Great Harvest Bread Company with 218 stores in 41 states, chairman of Business Life, Inc., and chairman of the Miss North Carolina USA program. He serves on the boards of several national organizations including the La-Z-Boy Corporation, one of the world's largest and most recognized furniture retailers.

Stephen J. Kopp, Ph.D.
Dr. Stephen J. Kopp is the 36th president of Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. Dr. Kopp assumed the presidency on July 1, 2005, taking over from interim president Michael J. Farrell.
Previously, Kopp was provost for two years at Ohio University (2002-2004) in Athens, Ohio, where he shared with the president the central administrative role in the university and served as the chief academic and operating officer. He led the senior administration effort to assist the university’s medical school in privatizing its patient services clinic. He also participated in Ohio University’s $200 million Bicentennial Campaign, raising more than $7 million in major gifts and pledges.
Kopp was also special assistant to the chancellor of the Ohio Board of Regents. Kopp also was founding dean of the Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions at Central Michigan University, and founding dean of the College of Allied Health Professions at Midwestern University. He also served in a variety of positions for nearly 20 years at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Kopp received his B.S. in Biology in 1973 from the University of Notre Dame and his Ph.D. in Physiology and Biophysics in 1976 from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He was a postdoctoral fellow at St. Louis University Medical Center, department of physiology, and a research fellow and NIH fellow in the department of biochemistry at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

William E. Troutt
The 19th President of Rhodes since 1999, William E. Troutt has led a strategic planning process that culminated in the Rhodes Vision, which focuses on student access and learning, work, service, internship and study abroad. Through his leadership, Rhodes has made the following strides: Applications for admissions have more than doubled;The college has risen to the top tier of national liberal arts colleges;The college has received the largest gift in its history—$35 million—to build the Paul Barret, Jr. Library.
A national education leader, Troutt has chaired the American Council on Education and the National Commission on the Cost of Higher Education. He recently completed service on the Abraham Lincoln Commission on Study Abroad. A native of Bolivar, Tennessee, he was named one of the nation’s most effective college presidents in a national study funded by the Exxon Foundation.

Arthur F. Kirk, Jr.
Dr. Arthur F. Kirk Jr. is the eighth president of Saint Leo University. He assumed the presidency of Saint Leo University Jan. 1, 1997. Under his leadership, the enrollments nearly doubled, graduation rates improved significantly
Dr. Kirk received his bachelor’s degree in history and his master’s degree in administration and supervision from Kean University in New Jersey. He earned his doctorate from Rutgers University. He began his collegiate administrative career at Kean University where he served as assistant director of the Division of College Development and director of alumni affairs. He also served as director of development and planning for Raritan Valley Community College, and directed the college’s off-campus, non-credit and curriculum development programs. Dr. Kirk moved on to be Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of College Misericordia and in 1984 he was named President of Keuka College.
Dr. Kirk serves on the board of the United Way of Pasco, and the Board of Governors of the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce, served two terms as vice-chair of the Division II Presidents Council for the NCAA and as a member of the NCAA Executive Committee. He also serves as chairman of the Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida and as a Board member of the Florida Association of Colleges and Universities.

Dr. Tim Gilmour
Dr. Joseph E. (Tim) Gilmour became the fifth president of Wilkes University in June 2001. He previously served as provost at Northwest Missouri State University (Maryville, Mo.) and as vice president for strategic planning at Georgia Tech. Gilmour also served as executive assistant to the president at the University of Maryland College Park, associate director of Academic Affairs for the Council of State College and University Presidents for Washington State and university planning specialist in the Office of Budget and Planning at The Pennsylvania State University.
Dr. Gilmour earned a doctorate in higher education from the University of Michigan, a master's degree in student personnel from the University of Delaware, and a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Delaware.
