General question

How are the living quarters set up?
Executive Education residences are designed with six to eight bedrooms composing a "living group" and a common conference living room/lounge.
Each lounge has a conference table for group discussions and a comfortable sitting area for relaxation, as well as a small refrigerator and a kitchenette stocked with coffee and tea. Ice and a microwave oven are also available. In addition, a computer printer, shared by the members of the living group, is located in the lounge.
Individual bedrooms are clustered near the common conference/lounge area. They are equipped with a single bed (linens and pillow), desk, reading lamp, hairdryer, and clock radio. Our executive housekeeping staff provides daily service and fresh towels except on Sunday. There is also a personal computer and a telephone in each bedroom. Participants should bring their own electrical personal care appliances and adapters that accommodate 120 volts. Bedrooms are single occupancy only and will be available for you on registration day.

Are participants required to live on campus?
All International Executive Education programs are residential during July and August programs, and participants are expected to live on the Columbia campus. Residence halls are designed to foster out-of-class discussion and shared learning. You will receive your residence hall assignment, contact/emergency telephone and fax numbers, and preliminary course materials prior to the start of your program.
Should I bring my laptop?
Every participant's room is equipped with a computer that accommodates all program assignments and necessary Internet access. Hooking up a laptop is possible with the appropriate voltage adapter. Participants should bring an adapter that accommodates 120 volts.
Can I hook up to the Internet?
The World Wide Web is accessible on your bedroom computer through Netscape Navigator?. All computers have high-bandwidth access to the Internet. Personal laptops can be used with the appropriate voltage adapter. However, there is only one analog line in each bedroom that must be shared between your modem and the telephone.

Admissions Procedure
How do I apply to a program?
Each ITAP Executive Education program has its own set of criteria for admissions. The Admissions Committee looks carefully at the makeup of each class in terms of diversity in industry, geography, and the applicant's number of years' experience and position in the organization. There are no formal education prerequisites.
If you have additional questions, please contact our course consultants at: Telephone: +1-718 661 3830
What are your admissions requirements?
Professional achievement and organizational responsibility are the main criteria for admission to our programs. Typically, participants in our programs have at least 5-10 years of management experience. There are no formal educational requirements.
Most programs require participants to have full company sponsorship. Sponsoring companies agree to assume all fees, provide for reasonable expenses, and relieve participants of their work responsibilities for the length of the program.
Selective enrollment of the most qualified and diverse group from the pool of candidates ensures an interactive and invigorating learning experience for all participants, and enhances the program's takeaway value for their supporting organizations.

Attire
What is the typical attire for an executive during a program?
For classes, "business casual" dress is customary. Business casual is defined as slacks/skirts/pants, open-necked shirts or blouses, and sweaters. Dress code is always informal after class and for dinner, unless otherwise announced. For dining out on Saturday or Sunday evenings, you may wish to bring a jacket and tie for men and similarly appropriate attire for women as some restaurants have a dress code. Participants who wish to participate in athletics should bring the appropriate attire.
